we got soaked, so when we came back to Llanberis we left  our clothes to dry and slept in the sun
[carl] After conquering Snowdon, the Advance Return Party, led by Austin, strike out for Pete's Eats in search of vital nutrients. Cathrine (or is it Catherine or some other spleeling?) seems to have acquired Fran's littlest sprog.
Austin demolished this "Big Jim's" breakfast at Pete's Eats. The coffee mug is a 1 pinter, 4 inches across to give you some idea of scale
[carl] Austin and Big Jim get acquainted. He's a growing lad, you know.
[carl]The Sheddi ascent team outside Pete's Eats, suitably puffed with pride (and carbohydrates) after successfully scaling Snowdon, and also, in Austin's case, Breakfast. From left to right and in no particular order of height, weight or breakfast size: Strider, Peter, Young Thomas, Austin, Pickle, Catherine[1], The Franlet[2], Jenny, Fran, Coj, Ms. Coj about to try a Pete's Eats Mug for size, A Well-Hidden Mrs Coj, Charlie, A Random Stranger. Note the extra leg which Charlie cunningly grew to support himself on steep slopes.
[1] Check spleing!
[2] Insert proper name here, to my shame I've forgotten - Emma, is it?
[carl]The previous picture was taken by yours truly from an advantageous position in the middle of the road using a wide angle lens.
Eschewing the middle of the road, Austin opted for a strategically chosen location about a mile away and used a mild telephoto. We tried to warn him about reduced depth of field and increased camera shake, but he wasn't really within earshot. Which is a shame, because everyone's smiling in this one, including miss coj although you can't tell on account
she has her head jammed inside a Pete's Eats Mug, but rest assured she was enjoying every second of it. Apart from being a bit blurry, this photo is noteworthy for the inclusion of the snappily dressed hunk on the left, wowing the passers-by with those gorgeous leather trousers and the drop-em-dead hairstyle, sartorial perfection or wot?
[carl] After everyone else hootered off to Jenny's place, I went for a restful row around Lake Ermthingy in a rowing boat, rowing the while. I risked death or even drowning to get this rower's-eye-view of the foothills and stuff. Note those big white fluffy things which are nowhere  near as inviting when you're standing in the middle of one. There was one of them stuck on the top of snowdon, but it'd come loose and drifted away by the time we were all safely back at breakfast level. This was shot at about 6:30pm. Afterwards, it absolutely pissed down.
coj's foot after the ascent
[Fran]Coj's feet. The normal one is on your right
Miss coj and Jenny's Catherine playing with the diablo
Austin's van. Some wag (Carl?) had written "Also available in white" in the dirt, Austin added "SHPX BSS"
The Vege special at the Chinky Dins in Aber
The eaters. Clockwise from L to R, Carl, Draenog (hidden behind Carl), Miss and Mrs coj, Austin and spare chair for Harry Marsh
This time Draenog takes the picture when Harry Marsh had visited the loo.
Back at Austin's farm Miss coj has a go on one of Austin's Dad's racing trikes
From Aber you can get a ticket on a steam railway to Devil's bridge
Coming down again pay an extra squid each and you can sit right close to the engine
Aber at low tide has loads of marine animules in the rock pools
Aber also has this strange building. In the front is Draenog, just in line with a smudge on the lens
[carl] Post-Snowdon CAT micromoot. Mrs Coj, Coj, Coj's Techno-Stick and yours truly mellowing-out by the pond at CAT, Machynlleth. Just behind Coj you can make out a person about to hurl himself headfirst into the pond. Fortunately, we didn't notice at the time so none of us had to fish him out using Coj's techno-stick.  It's worth mentioning that Coj's techno-stick was bought by Austin and not Coj - Coj was holding out for a Goddard, but succumbed to the techno-stick's wiles and charms after carelessly breaking a couple of legs[1] and standing on an unexploded foot-pump half way up the North  face of the Western Ascent. "Bugger," he said, "You'd best go on without me". But we wouldn't abandon a fellow like that, not when we could drag him another couple of thousand feet up a slippery rock-strewn "path" into a freezing raincloud. After all, what are friends for? To make him feel better, I stood on his expensive wind-up torch. Draenog is also in this picture, just behind the camera.
[1] Not the ones he was using, obviously.
You get to CAT via this Water driven funicular
A large solar panel array at CAT
Some nice flowers, dunno what sort though
